A genuine approach to glove reviews.

My history goes back 25 years when I walked into my first kickboxing gym. After a couple of years I fell out of combat sports but stayed close to the fitness realm, working at a university gym for several years and learning aspects of sports medicine. I’ve attended to more personal injuries and emergencies than most.

Today I’m part of the local boxing gym and a member of Boxing Ontario, though I work in an office and don’t punch people for a living. I hope that means this will be a site for everyone. I characterize myself as an enthusiast more than anything else.

I’ve spent hours and hours scouring “best list” review sites and watching youtube unboxings. Unfortunately except for a rare few sites and channels out there, most “reviews” are all about driving traffic to affiliate links or selling their own wares. Even a lot of the better sites and channels default to asking a clickbait question without attempting to actually answer it. (Example: “Has XYZ Co. made the BEST EVER sparring glove?” even though they haven’t.)

I do believe if you put effort in your product, there will always be some redeeming qualities to it. Opinion matters too. Reviews should be refutable or repeatable. This site aims to enrich the review ecosystem in a topic I’ve come to really enjoy. Make your hobby your business, so they say.

Therefore I hope to bring some new details or info to help you make some of your gear decisions, and would love feedback on what you would like compared or reviewed next.

Face your problems head on. Do what you have to do to take care of it. Develop a good work ethic.
